after goin thru this camp with beloved CANALIS,
i shall have every single right to say that this camp ROCKED MY SOCKS!
this has GOT to the the best camp ever!

alright, DAY 1.

like the happy camper i anticipated to be,
i met liwei at mushroom and told her "I'M A HAPPY CAMPER! :DD"
we went on to cheers to grab some bites and headed off to SAA for registration.
despite being expected to be in the same group,
we were still delighted to know that we were put in the same grp due to some strike of coincidence or touch of MAGIC.
*but really, we jus had to inform the main comms beforehand.*
i smiled at everyone.
*see? i'm a happy camper! :D*

and in the midst of indulgin in my tuna sandwich, which happens to be my breakfast, i noticed that one of my childhood playmates was sitting behind me!
and so, like what another other "Cheryl"s would do,
i went like "HELLO WARAN!!!! HIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!:DDDDD*
so yea. HAHA. chatted a lil bit and i continued munchin on my tuna sandwich.
mmmmmm, tuna. YUM YUM. (:
turned to my left and i saw another person i knew from young.
haha,
tae kwan do classmates, if u really wanna know.
*ehhhhhh, dun play play k. i was only 2 stages away from BLACK belt k!*
so yea,
WEE LOON (or so i thought 'Wei Lun') was like SO SHOCKED that i knew so much a bit him.
haha, cos he totally dun rmb me.
n he was like, "OMG, HOW U KNOW I GOT BRO? HOW U KNOW I TOOK TAE KWAN DO?? HOW U KNOW I USED TO LIVE AT BEDOK???" etc.
and i would jus shoot him the 'DUHHHH' look and say "BECAUSE I KNOW U??"
really, it took him quite awhile to digest the fact that we indeed knew each other since a few years back.

well yea.
we finally registered and i was put into the group called 'CANALIS'.
1st grp was 'ALGINA',
followed by 'BALARES'
and the last grp being 'DEWINI'.
when i 1st read 'CANALIS'...i immediately went like, "WHAT? sounds like CANNABALIST. =.="
liwei was laughin and then my imagination took flight and things like 'CANAL' and 'CANASAI' came out.
HA HA.

so yea, initially,
we started off as the smallest grp which consisted of only 4 people.
it was quite pathetic as we were trying to play the standard kinda team building games.
but we still managed to pull it off for a quite a while.
then the rest came and we sat down and memorised each others names almost instantly.
YEA, good memory huh ((:
lol.

what happened next i don't rmb...
but what i do rmb was i had 2 packets of ROASTED CHICKEN RICE! :DD
with the orh orh jiang!

don't blame me please, i was seriously hungry.
while eating, liwei and i started countin how our $16 were gonna be used.
haha, and we predicted that we can only afford chicken rice for EVERY meal for the next 3 days.
THANK GOD that wasnt the case.

continued finising up the whole tripod structure and brought it out to the open,
where the MAGIC AUTUMN will be held.

while gab and nig were doin QC on our masterpiece,
liwei n i started gossipping.
right in front of them.
HAHA.
like, they could hear us loud and clear.
but we were talkin about no one from the camp,
so we figured it was harmless to say it out loud since we were too conveniently situated at where we were.
LOL.

TIME FOR SHOPPING! :D
haha, we were given a grocery list and we had to buy all that was on the list which will be used for field cooking for the next few days.
steady sia. better than sec sku field cooking.

we were given a $100 budget thanks to TP for sponsoring and we got to the extra money to buy other foodstuff.
we totally went for the luxury foods.
HAHA. x)

before leaving, liwei and i got ourselves 4 bottles of soda.
haha,
LEMON & LIME BITTERS,
CREAMY SODA,
SARSPARILLA and
GINGER BEER.
buy 2 get 2 free...
$3 for 4 bottles.
and they dont taste too bad. (:

went to hunt for hiphop pop which the others were tackling the cashier and we were disappointed.
mostly me actually.
heh.
had $1 bubble tea instead...

back to sku.
pitched our tents at the *something* grove place.
camping under the stars.
HOW DELIGHTFUL.
went back to the open area outside SAA.
sat and lazed around waiting for the mid autumn event to start.
saw leeshen and we chatted a bit.

DINNER TIME! :D
like, FINALLY.
haha.
BUT, to my utter disappointment,
it was freaking CHICKEN RICE like, AGAIN.
wtf.
i tried to stuff it down but i jus cant consume 3 packets of chicken rice in a day,
not in 6 hrs only.
tried my best and chucked the rest.

finally, the event started.
liwei and i totally toured the whole exhibition thing and sampled all the mooncakes and teas!
hahah.
and there were even tea eggs!
lol.
i so wanted to have the mua chi but sadly,
due to my hatred with nuts and stuff,
i decided to refrain.
played some station games and went back to sit at our designated ground sheets.
talked a little,
danced a little
and fanned a whole lot.
HAHA.

packed up, brought back the spars and went for shower.
finally, i smelt like a clean and nice mango again aft stinking in perspiration the whole day.
managed to get myself a bento set,
so YAY ME, YAY SUPPER! :D
while sitting tgt brainstorming about talent night,
i manage to devour 3 bentos.
oh relax, i didnt eat the rice.
haha.

as the rest hit the shack,
liwei and i stayed behind at the catwalk and started to rot.
then we chatted a lil with nigel.
then i went to talk on the phone while nigel showed liwei how to tie a hammock.
then i somehow ended up chatting through the night with nig, serene, eugenia and liwei.
haha.

THEN, there was CAT 1.
and CAT 2.
and we FLEE for our lives back to shelter.
put down some of our stuff and raced back to the field to help move the tents back to shelter.
it was pouring like the opposite of a drought.
had some lemon bitters and creamy soda and went to dry off in the toilet.
we didnt slp the whole night thru.
liwei, glenn, sean and i ended up playin bridge till dawn.
yup.
HAHA.
i finally learnt how to play bridge.

DAY 2.

breakfast.
bread with pb&j.
not my ideal morning meal.
but, oh wells.
collected our logistics and filled up the 2 big water containers.
sat around and rot some more.
oh, and more bridge.
finally, it was time to leave.

maneuver over the the engine blocks and yes,
YOU'VE GUESS IT.
we sat and rot a while more.
HAHA.
got on the bus,
it was still drizzling.
caught a lil eye shut as we bused our way to marina south jetty...

reached.
sat and rot.

went to the toilet,
and OMG, MASSIVE MIRROR MUCH!

got on the ferry/boat/whatever.
good thing it was equipped with air con.
if not the thing would be so crammed i'd start to think i m an illegal immigrant.
reached within 20 mins.

as must as we i dreaded it,
we were pitchin our tents again.
trust me,
it was not half as annoying to pitch than it seems.
the soil was so loose that packing it was of no practicality.
but we still managed to do it.

LUNCH! :D
it's like, so far,
meal times are the things i look forward to the MOST in the camp.
haha. x)
so yea.
as much as i would LOVE to feel grateful for a packet of chicken rice...
we had to do field cooking.
gosh.
startin the fire was nearly as fast as my eyebrows growing, seriously.
boiling the water was another endless wait.
OH, THE TORTURE.
we cooked chicken noodles and i decided to throw in a few eggs.
turned out to be quite fulling and tasty! ((:
we opened the can of curry chicken.
i think i liked the potato most.
heheh (:
there were some other food which i cant seem to recall now,
but no matter.

how amusing.

altho i admit i was a lazy bum,
at least i m proud to say i help outin washin at least ONCE.
unlike some ppl who didnt even touch the dish washing soap.

omg, most fun game EVER! (and MOST ICKY YET!)
haha.
we played CAPTAIN'S BALL...
and it was a battle among 4 teams.
balls of diff sizes were toss at us and each was accounted for a different amount of point.
at the last round,
the MYSTERY item that was worth 100 points was flung into the sky.
and wad landed onto the hands of the enthusiast was nothing near to a ball.
it was a MARINATED CHICKEN LEG!!!
(imagine turkey leg)
OHMYGOD. it was pure disgust and still we had to play on...
FOR THE TEAM!!!
there were a couple of those being tossed around...
3? 4? i dont know. couldnt count...
they were all busy flying around.
i tried to grab on to one but some rowdy guy snatched it away and the skin tore off.
i flicked it away.
surprisingly,
the chicken smells nice, almost good to eat it wasnt soiled in dirt.
HAHA. x)
Canalis was 1st in the 1st round and came in last at the end of the game.
but no worries,
we still love each other, yea? (:

it was around 6pm+ and the sky was still bright...
at least the toilet was bright enough.
we were given a choice to either bathe 1st or later in the night and canalis, out of all the grps, were the only ones we opted to shower 1st.
omg, we are so damn smart!
haha.
we all bathed hassle free and i smelt like a nice little mango again! (:
started cooking asap.
spaghetti this time round.

it was great when mixed with CHUNKY soup. (:
sardine rocks my socks and YAY mushrooms!
hahahaha.
quickly washed up as it was getting dark.
by the time we got to our turn,
the toilet was almost pitch black.
we had to light up each other's lives by shining out torches at them while they wash the dishes.
lol.
imagine those who had to bathe in the dark enclosed cubicles...

Night walk.
last activity.
waited outside the toilet area as we started to entertain ourselves with lame jokes.
haha.
pair by pair we entered the shrine of doom...
it was the boy's toilet actually.
LOL.
n we had to look for the little plastic coil thing in the pitch black toilet with only one light stick.
waran n i found it on the latrine.
omg, HYGIENE please.
then was the solo night walk.
we had to walk along the concrete path ALONE without a torch, to the other end of the island.
lucky for us,
the moon hung high and bright,
so the road was still visible.
had a rather sian-ed night walk with the whole walkin among the trees by following the string and revealing the story behing the island.

Debrief.
i was craving for apollo cos i was hungry again.
but time for bed,
i need slp. ):
lied on my sleeping bag in the tent on the ground.
it was so NOT comfy.
listened to the voicemail my darling left me and before i knew it,
it was morning.

DAY 3.

early in the morning 6:30am.
if i was back at home, i'd be cursing the minute i see the time.
but no.
CAMP.
gotta wake up early to fend off the other early risers so i can use the toilet in PEACE!
.............ahhhhhh heck.
jus lemme snooze for another 30 mins.

7am.
finally woke up.
wash up and tidy up the tent a lil.
breakfast...
biscuits with milo/teh tarik.
biscuits. omg. so NOT the breakfast thang.

games.
had this treasure hunt thing.
ok la,
quite fun.
haha. jus that we had to run around the whole dang island and the sun was BURNING us to death.
there were digging in the sand, again.
and trust me, this time round it wasnt easy.
omg. dig dig dig.
the sun so hot.
i could feel my blood evaporating. ):
we were so close to winning the prize!
but kok's heroic dive into the sea to compete wif samuel (i think) to nab the (thought-to-be) treasure caused him to lost his specs in the waters. we quickly went in the water to help him find it too. then samuel lost his too.
HAHA.
ppl wif specs. tsk tsk.
we kept searching and to no avail until JIN TO THE RESCUE!
he managed to dive in and n found both of their specs.
haha.
in the midst of the commotion, another grp came in and got the treasure.
we were a lil...'cui diao' but none of us were feeling angry or anything. (at least i think)
see? we are so bonded!
haha.
but, it was like a relief when we realise we only lost a box of honey stars.
but! it was like..."WHAT!?! WE RAN AROUND SO MUCH JUS FOR HONEY STARS!?!?"
haha.

time for a dip in the sea!

played some wrestling and i fell off b4 even getting on. LOL.
played MONKEY! x)
and then...jus floated around.

oh, and there was a lot of seaweed throwing.

we had to run to and fro between stations and checkpoint and stuff until we got the right KEY to unlock his hand cuffs.
and we still had to carry him back to the jetty.

haha, during the game i felt like dying.
seriously.
jus shoot me dead.
i had a headache (prolly due to being under the sun for too long as i was digging) and all the running was makin me hyperventilate.
gosh.
JUS KILL ME.
BUT, i managed to survive the whole run.
haha, so here i m still alive and kickin, and of course, BLOGGING!

we saved weiyang and was only split sec from winning 1st.
but, nvm, at least we tried our best! :DD

we were given 3 hrs to cook, eat, wash up, bathe and discuss abt talent night.
somehow, i don't know what, but sth gave us the motivation to put in all we've got for talent night.
so we sacrificed dinner.

while some girls and guys who have yet bathed earlier go shower,
the remaining girls stayed behind to boil water and make teh tarik and milo.
we quickly finished all the teh tarik and milo and washed up the mass tins and went to finalise our act and still have time to run thru n rehearse it a few times. (:

haha, we ended up with some SUPER HORNY, PORNO, R-21, DAMN YELLOW story which started with an ugly princess.

liwei n i joined the sc guys and we played a lil cards.

the guys formed a human wall for me so i wouldnt have too much toothpaste and water flyin towards my face. LOL.
and then we stood there and enjoyed the crazy wind.

we shifted our bags out and unpacked out tents...
rolled it up and zipped it up.

it wasnt that bad until the ants startin crawling up ur legs and start biting u at every opportunity possible.
DANG.
finally,
it was time to go again.
the ferry/boat was here and we rushed to the jetty with our bags.
formed a human chain and transported our logistics on board.

this time, the ride was better.
we had tables in between benches.
haha.
canalis got to sit tgt except some of us got stuck somewhere else.
nonetheless,
we still manage to capture our grp photos.

all the way back to singapore.

the trip seems so much shorter. ):

went straight to the sports complex and we put our bags tgt as a grp.
had a lil break time so we quickly bought snacks from the vending machine and aft that, i swallowed 1/2 a can of sardines.

then it was time to clean up the tents.
water splashed everywhere...fangying was like sweeping the water away with a broom.
we jus tried to pour the water away.
haha.
then someone had an idea and all of us started to pitch the tents again, so that it would dry faster.
the sun was so hot, it BURNED the ground...
which ended up sizzling our feet.
OUCH.
aft a whole day of sai kang (yet again) we cooled off by splashin water at one another.
haha. good old fun. (:

FINALLY. i see packed food aft so many days.
however, i was greatly disppointed.
the beehoon and noodle tasted TERRIBLE.
omg, HORRIBLE.
but the fried rice was good.
haha,
too bad i din pick fried rice. =/
had tonnes of 100 plus and then when we finished, we had to keep our dried tents again.
oh, and the ground sheets and ponchos too! haha.

went to plaza sing and got me some new pumps.

then while he went on to buy his torque i got myself some dental brush.
